I never knew I could become so emotional reading about people that I nevet got to meet. So many good and decent people lost to us on 9/11/01. Although it's been 21 years (can you believe it?), I want to send my condolences to all who lost a loved one that day. I hope you have all found peace. Our country will never forget.

I lived down the street from Nick in Garfield Park, Willingboro, NJ and he was one of my first friends growing up. We were in the same grade through elementary school and we used to play and hang out. I remember Nick was a good swimmer, he was a funny, kind, smart kid with a great sense of adventure and imagination! That was a long time ago and we lost touch when he moved away but, I've never forgotten him and his friendship. I was very sorry to hear of his tragic passing and he and his family remain in my thoughts and prayers.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 years. I just found this memorial but know I have never forgotten you nor your beautiful family. I was lucky enough to have had your son in my Preschool class so long ago. You and your wife Dorothy were amazing parents! Always helping with school activities and I enjoyed our discussions about games “Dungeons and Dragons “ etc. Your son Nicholas was so little as was Emily who was only an infant. I was heartbroken that the world and your family lost an amazing man! Heart of gold with a brilliant mind. I will never forget you —-nor will I forget every victim from that day. Every year I think about you and pray for your family. Our newspaper always has an article about you today. If your family can see this. All my love to each one you. My little Nicholas — adored you as a 4 year old and know your daddy loved you so much! To Dorothy— I Hope life is okay for you my friend. I always think of each one of you and never knew where you moved to. Just know I wish you all love and happiness and it was a pleasure knowing your family. Nicholas is all grown up now —- please hug him for me. He probably won’t remember me but I’ll never forget him nor any of you. Especially your husband— Nicholas Bogdan you will forever be remembered and never forgotten. I am honored I knew you and until we meet again...

I also never met Nick but two years ago (2013) a bunch of us bikers & veterans got together for the first (2 Million Bikers to DC memorial ride) to ride in honor of those who lost their lives on 9-11. Everyone picked a name and taped it to their helmet and I picked your name Nick. I had a real strong sense that you were there with me on that ride. I hope you enjoyed it. When I returned to my home in Queensbury NY, I looked you up online and posted a picture of you so that others could put a face to who I spoke about. Today, fourteen years later, I looked you up again and found so much more information about you. I didn't know you were married and I didn't know you have kids. To read the comments here from your wife and son are heartbreaking. I read somewhere that you would have got off work that day at 9am which means you worked midnights. At the time, I was also working midnights but I was off at 7am and my wife woke me up when the attack started. From what I can figure, you were just minutes away from being out of that building. What a terrible shame. Today I am even more honored that I rode in your memory after learning more about you and the family and friends that are left behind. I'll remember your name and face the rest of my life and someday we will meet again. Today I will pray for you and I will pray that God comforts your family and friends when they are missing you and that he blesses them. tdkurish@gmail.com

We never met, but you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers today. I work at an all-girls' high school in Southern California and at a memorial service this morning we were all given a paper heart with the name of someone who lost their life on 9/11... and I received your name. As Judith mentioned in her posting earlier today, I also wanted to learn more about you so that you were not just a name on a piece of paper. Please know that we will never forget!

Although I never knew Nick, I have been praying for him and his family since 9/11. Our church had a memorial service that evening and I drew his name out of a basket. I checked him out on the web because I wanted him to be more than a name on a piece of paper. I just listened to the service in NYC on the web and heard his name again. I will never forget.

Sorry it took so long to find this page, Nick. Didn't know what company you'd worked for. Last I knew, you were working in down the shore at a casino. I didn't think I'd get so emotional this long after, but I'm crying as I type this. I used to touch your name on the memorial US flag at the Wawa in East Windsor when I was still in NJ. Miss you, man. You were ULTIMATE!

I sat next to Nick at Maple Shade High School in Mechanical Drawing class. He was a REALLY nice kid. He was quiet and he loved sci-fi novels! I found out in 2002 he was in WTC. I think of him every year. My heart goes out to his family. I will never forget him. John Leahy (johnrobertleahy@mac.com)

Looks like Emily got your brains (thank goodness). She's doing wonderful in school. I know you are looking down on all of us. I hope and pray you know how much we all love you. Dorothy

Blessings and prayers for all the families that lost their most beloved that day. Prayers for all the lives in the region that have lost jobs, homes, and a way of life they knew because of these horrid attacks. Honor, pride and deep love and respect for all those who worked tirelessly and unselfishly to try and recover some alive. Who cleared debris who lived and worked in the midst of the carnage. Please God let us never forget but let us heal.

I have never had the pleasure of meeting you or your wife. Since your death I have had the honor of talking to your wife on the telephone. You would be very proud of her. She is a remarkable woman. You are missed so very much by your family and friends. I am a stranger, you have never met, we have never had words but on 9/11 I lost a bit of my heart and the rest of it went out to the victims and their families. You are in the loving arms of God and he is helping you to watch over you wife and beautiful children. Rest in peace my unknown friend. Feel assured Dorothy and your children are in my prayers.

I miss you so much Nick. The kids miss you and I miss you. It hurts so much to know that you aren't here for all of the little things in our lives. Emily looks just like you and you would be so proud of your son. Nicholas is doing so well in school and is just a great kid. He loves all of the same superheros from Marvel and DC that you did. He also has the same problem with doing his homework that you had when you were younger. He is getting to be just like you. He loves playing on the computer and loves playing the same games that you did. You would have been so proud of your little girl too. She loves to swim just like you. She also has your eating habits. She loves her McDonalds french fries. I hope that I make you proud of me. I will always do my best to keep the memory of the love you have for them alive. I will always let them know what a wonderful person their father was. I love you Nick. Dorothy

Nick worked at Conair Corp. before leaving to go on to MMC. I met him in August of 1998 when I was promoted into the MIS department. He worked closely with Glenn Stroin (who later became my husband). Nick was one of those guys who liked to joke around and liked to have fun. I remember someone in our department had gotten ahold of this little computer game called Box World. It may have been Nick who got it first, I'm not sure, but within about a week there were about 4 or 5 of us all playing this stupid little game on our pcs at work. It was one of those games where you have to beat one level to get to the next. Well Nick was out to destroy us all. He was on a level in the 50's and we were all still down around the 20's or 30's. Everyday when one of us would go into the computer room Nick would be there with a big grin on his face and you'd know the next line out of his mouth would be, 'So what level are you on now?' And when we would tell him he would lean back in his chair with this content look on his face. It was enough to make you race back to your pc and try to conquer one more level to get closer to him. Well one day one of us realized there was a way to go into the programming of the game and change a couple of numbers so you could start on whatever level you wanted. So we set it all up. We were all standing around this one guys desk and set the game to start on level 60 something. Then we called Nick in the computer room and said 'You won't believe it! We just got to level 60 whatever'. I wish I could have been there near the computer room to see him bolt out of that chair because he was at Charlie's desk in about 8 seconds flat! He just stood there and stared at the screen and finally said, 'How did you get that far?' And we were all like, 'Well, level 58 was really hard but then the next few weren't too bad.' He was dumbfounded. He turned and was back at his pc in the computer room in about another 8 seconds flat and sure enough, when I walked by he had his game going...LOL! I don't think he ever knew how we did that, but rest assured Nick was the true Box World King...LOL! We had a couple MIS get togethers, one being a pool party. That was the first time I ever met Nicholas Jr. Nick was a loving father. When I think of him I remember that Box World Conspiracy and that pool party and seeing him play with Nicholas in the water. Mine and Glenn's prayers go out to Nick's wife and kids and all the other countless families affected by the horrible tragedy. I'm sure wherever Nick is, he has a big smile on his face now because he knows we didn't really beat him at Box World...the secret is out.

Nick was a good friend and working partner. Though I diden't work directly alongside him, I technically interviewed Nick and got to know him well. Nick and I would play this game where about a week before Sept 11th he would get off at 9AM the exact same time I was arriving. He diden't see me in the WTC lobby and I walked into him and shouted real loud 'Hey, watch where your going there Buddy'. He got me back September 10th when I diden't see him and he returned the favor, bumping me, almost knocking me over. I was plotting my revenge going in on Sept 11th and was all ready for him. We never crossed paths. Rest in peace Nick. I owe you one.
