Nothing has been the same since Loretta has been gone and 15 years later, the sadness and shock of losing her and so many others is still fresh. We miss Loretta and love her always.

Loretta was a dear friend that I met at Casey's in Clifton NJ in the early 1990's. She was the sweetest and most wonderful person in he world. I even spent thanksgiving with her at her sisters home. Heaven has another angel

Loretta - Over more than 45 years of traveling, you were the most outstanding travel professional I ever knew. You literally coordinated my life for me. From J&H through Marsh, from hundreds of miles away, every day you knew where I was, and when and how I was traveling. I often talked to you twice a day, and I knew your voice as well as my Mother's. In a small town in the Czech Republic on September 11, someone grabbed my arm and hustled me to a TV just before the second plane hit. I thought of you instantly, and I remembered your warm wishes for safe travels. Years later, I still miss your resourcefulness, creativity, and capable assistance every day that I am traveling. Bob Coburn P.S. (And later that afternoon, you would have appreciated the hundreds of people in that small town in Europe, who stood for hours in a line all the way around the hospital, all there to give blood to send to New York.)

I will never forget how quickly you made me feel so welcomed and included on that November 1984 sailing on Home Lines. You made me laugh with your stories, or how when you met my parents the first words out of your mouth were " we love your daughter". You were a genuine friend and I think of you everyday in my prayers. There will NEVER be anybody like you. Love, Barbara Heckler PA

I remember Loretta so fondly as my "go to" person for corporate travel reservations. She was so good at what she did and just the nicest person. On September 11, 2001 a number of us were scheduled to be part of a conference call that included Loretta. Tragically that call never took place.

I had the honor of working alongside Loretta from 1975 - 1988 in building 1 of the World Trade Center. Loretta was an unsung heroine of sorts. I personally know of some of the adversities she overcame in her short life with us. She had overcome much and had a bright future when her life was abruptly ended on that tragic day. Just one of many of the heroes that were taken from us that day. I hope that all the peoples in this world someday agree that terror only fosters more fear and violence. We can all try to make this world a better place, in memory of these fallen heroes.

7 years later and i still smile when i think of you. Loretta was our travel agent at work and I spoke with her often. She was my favorite person to deal with and excellent at her job. I remember how happy she was being married and being a mom. I never met her in person, yet she left a lasting impression. I had a note on my desk that tragic day...CALL LORETTA. Big hugs to her family.

I never met Loretta, however I spoke to her many times in the course of my travel planning. Loretta was friendly, efficient and ALWAYS got it right. On 12/5/2000 I sent a complementary letter to Amex Travel and she called shortly thereafter to thank me. I morn all of our lost colleagues and all the others, however Loretta's passing touched me in a very personal way.

I spoke with Loretta many times coordinating travel arrangements for the consultants that I support. Loretta was always a pleasure to deal with, always very pleasant, very helpful and very efficient...a winning combination. On Sept. 11, 2001 the AAs in the Princeton office were set up for a conference call with the AMEX travel staff in the World Trade Center...a call that sadly never took place. Though I never had an opportunity to meet Loretta personally I always think of her on Sept. 11. and remember this very nice person. I still think of her whenever I make my calls to AMEX and miss the conversations we had.

I was thinking of Loretta today, almost fours years after this tragic day. I was making travel plans for yet another business trip and was bumping into many difficulties getting where I needed to be, and getting back to home when I wanted to be there. Loretta always seemed to get me where I wanted to go, cheap and fast - and back home. I miss her, she was a great travel professional.

Loretta and her colleague Lucy did all my travel and there was lots of it. They always got me to my final destination ( home ) safely. I am sure God got them to their final destination safely and with love.. I miss Loretta.

I knew Loretta for many years. First with J&H and then Marsh. We both had the same wicked sense of humor. What would start out as a business call would always end with us giggling and one of us telling the other how bad we were. I finally got to meet Loretta and Stephen one summer day in Nantucket. They loved Nantucket and went every year and I was there visiting friends. It was a perfect day - the sky a brillant blue, the ocean breeze, good conversation and lots of laughter. I will treasure the memory of that day always as I treasure the memory of my lovely friend, Loretta Vero.

I stumbled across Loretta during one of my multiple calls to Amex and from that day on I made it a habit to always ask for her. She would talk to me and offer insight and suggestions on my travel plans. I feel that through our many conversations about different locations and our lives, that we became friends. When I was working downtown for two weeks on assignment, I jumped at the chance to personally pick up my tickets for an upcoming trip and meet Loretta. It was wonderful to put a face with a voice that I had talked to and laughed with so often. I truly miss her.

It is early morning and this is the time which Loretta and I would conduct "business" since we both got into work early. She and I started working together when she was at Maritz Travel and I was with Johnson & Higgins. She was the one on whom I depended to make travel arrangements and she was the best. Though we only met one time face to face, I considered her a friend as well as a colleague as did many of the Marsh colleagues who had the opportunity to work with her. We shared laughs, tears and advise on the events in our personal lives through the years. In fact, when my daughter moved to New Jersey, Loretta was the one I called to find the best places to shop in New Jersey. There hasn't been a morning since last September, that I haven't wanted to be able to pick up the phone, call American Express, and ask for Loretta.
