I worked as Earl's secretary at Guy Carpenter, he was funny, and nothing bothered him. I enjoyed the stories he told about his family. Gone but never forgotten! Earl, you are always in my thoughts, and your family are are are always in my prayers, on this day, when the world as they knew it changed. God bless them, and God bless you, may you find rest in His outstretched arms!

I knew Earl from Guy Carpenter. He was a big, tall lanky guy with a great sense of humor, who wasn't trying to impress anybody. He got promoted to vice president while I was there, and still was the same old Earl. He was fun to watch on the softball field, which was where his competitiveness came out. He was a great person, and a respected co worker. God bless you Earl, and your grieving family and friends.

Dear Earl,

We shall never forget you, your smile, your voice and your laugh. We shall keep this day as a sacred remembrance of you and what we lost in a moment.

We carry on but we never leave you behind. Thank you for helping us daily to carry the tears and the sadness in our hearts but still to move forward with strength and determination. God Bless You and your family today and always. Patricia & Charles Barraza

My first job after Business School was working for Guy Carpenter under Earl Shanahan typing checks. I too enjoyed his business and personal spirit. It was fun playing softball with the firm and try to win more games then the men. I'd to see your face; But will always keep you in my prayers each and every 9/11. RIP slugger!

Earl - Even though we never met, I know that you were a good man. I am a genealogist for the Shanahn clan and I remember the sinking feeling that I had when I looked up on the 9-11 Wall and saw your name listed. I think of you every September 11 and hope that your family/loved ones are at peace as it must be so difficult every year to feel the pain all over again. God bless you all.
