Family Tribute:

Peter Klein of Weehawken, New Jersey, was a victim of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center Towers in New York City. He was a dynamic, jovial person who loved family activities in both the United States and Mexico.

Raised in Salt Point, Peter attended Pleasant Valley Schools, and Arlington High School where he actively participated in Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. In January of 2001, he was granted a patent from the United States Patent Office for a Method and System for compiling source code containing natural language instructions. Peter played volleyball as a member of the New York Urban Professional Athletic League for many years. Peter enjoyed flying, and was pursuing his pilot’s license. He flew his first solo flight this summer. At the time of his death, Peter was working for MARSH, Inc. as a computer-programming consultant.

Peter and I spent most of our childhoodtogether. We sat in the same seat on the bus to school every day, were altar boys together and worked at the library together. You and your family are in my thoughts and in my prayers..... God Bless

Peter and I took the train in the mid-1990's from Poughkeepsie to NYC. As commuters on the same train in the morning, we often sat together to pass the time of the 80-mile trip into Manhattan. I remember laughs and great conversation with a kind, wonderful person. In the winter, Peter would sometimes wear a wool sweater. Since I'm allergic to wool, he would remove the sweater and place it on a rack on the other end of the train before coming by to sit with me. I will never forget that kind gesture and the kind soul that he was. I will never forget.

I attended a wonderful memorial service this morning in St Louis' Forest Park. Each flag was marked with name and photo of a victim of the attacks of Sept 11. The closing speaker encouraged those present to look at a name and face and learn about that person, to further foster the sense of unity and better come to terms with the terrible losses of our fellow Americans. I was standing next to Peter Klein's flag. I am sorry for your loss. (This tribute page required a "relationship", so I selected friend)

Peter and I collaborated on a project in the spring of 2001 - traveling to Dallas together we were both newlywed and I was pregnant with my first child. We had many happy conversations about life, his hopes for a family and how good things were. Once the client realized I was pregnant they stopped the project, and he was good about that too! Thinking of his big smile on this tenth anniversary.

It's amazing how quickly 10 years goes by and how sad my heart still feels at the loss of Pete, Mike D'Esposito and my other colleagues at Marsh.

I learned so much from working with Pete and through it all, had so many laughs.

My heart goes out to his family and the rest of our great TrendTracker team at this time of rememberance.
