Today the students in my school are wearing wristbands with the names of the fallen on 9/11. On my wristband is the name Donna M. Bernaerts. I want to honor her memory and tell those who knew her that she is not forgotten. God Bless...

Dear Aunt Donna,

Remembering back to my childhood is to remember so many good times with you. You taught me so much back then that I didn't even realize I was using until I got older. My mother says that I have a mouth like my father personally I can remember you teaching me to be the way I am today. I used to love spending time with you because you always knew how to have so much fun. Not to mention you never cared if my mother got mad at us.:) Aunt Cookie on the other hand was strict like Mom. So many things to remember and now this is the only way to talk about it any more. I wish you were here. I wish the family was together again and I didn't have to lose both you and my father allin the same year. I know though that you are somewhere out there watching out over all of us. Just know that I LOVE AND MISS YOU.

Your Niece,

Deborah Bernaerts

Donna,

Although I did not know you personally, I pray that you are now resting at peace in heaven and that God is giving your loved ones the strength they need to carry on in your honor.

Love,

The 1 year anniversary prompted me to remember that you were a devoted mother.
